CommBank, ANZ expected to raise rates

ABS house price data ‘a clear sign threats in Sydney and Melbourne steadily rising’

Speculation about a housing bubble is likely to heat up even further, with Sydney and Melbourne property prices up 5.2 per cent and 5.3 per cent respectively over the three months to December, official data released on Tuesday shows. Housing market is in an environment of ‘heightened risk’, but it’s not ‘the B-word’

Australia’s banking regulator says the country’s housing market is in an environment of “heightened risk”, but he won’t say there’s a housing bubble.
